We're big fans of the Native-American-inspired logo of the Seattle Seahawks. It taps into the spirit of one of the great, ancient cultures in the Pacific Northwest. But what is a "sea hawk" anyway? Is there such a bird? We did some research and found out.

A "seahawk" is another name for an Osprey -- also called fisher hawks. Basically, they are fantastic fishing birds. They swoop down and grab prey right out of the water.

Considering how the Seahawks defense snatches balls away from the other team (best interception record in the NFL this season), I think it's a perfect mascot!
