Hansen Park in Kennewick is getting a $700,000.00 make-over and construction started this week.

The 25 acre park is getting 400 feet of new paths, multiple community gardens, 2 picnic shelters, more benches, and a new parking lot.

There will be multiple gardens, one will be a community heritage garden, and another a community vegetable garden.

The upgrades are being paid for by a grant from the state recreation conservation and the rest is from city funds.

The city still needs volunteers to halp finish the park. If you want to help, contact the city of Kennewick here.
