A shocking death at a Federal Way, WA area water park has officials investigating, and the community asking questions. Drownings in summer are not unusual, but in a water park? Very rare.

According to Northwest Cable News, a man described as being in his 30's apparently drowned at the Wild Waves Water park in Federal Way Saturday evening. South King (county) Fire and Rescue were called to the park, located in Federal Way outside of Seattle around 5:30pm for a report of an unconscious man floating in the facilities' activity pool.

He had been pulled from the water and CPR begun by lifeguards at the facility.

Despite CPR and other lifesaving efforts, the man, who's name was not released, could not be revived and was pronounced dead. Authorities did not release any information as to what led to his death, including no details if it was medically related.

The investigation continues.
