What ‘Motivated’ Woman to Fire Gun at Man Near Benton City?

Authorities have not released her identity yet, but are still trying to figure out what 'triggered' the woman to start shooting.

Benton County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Private Road 99 SE, not far from Benton City, for reports of a woman firing a handgun at a man.

Officials say around 1:30 p.m. they arrived and found the man had barricaded himself inside the garage after the shots began.

They subdued the woman, disarmed her, and then the man was able to come out.

No one was harmed in the incident.

She is in the Benton County jail on investigation for assault.
