Kennewick police continue to investigate what led a 29-year-old woman to commit arson.

Brenda Buckley (address not listed) of Kennewick was arrested Saturday afternoon after police determined she tried to burn the apartment of a man she was apparently "upset" with.

Officer Kiel of the Kennewick Police department reported Buckely allegedly set fire to an object, then dropped it through an open window in the man's apartment at 29 North Tweedt Place around 3:45pm.

A witness saw Buckely light the object and drop it through, they then helped extinguish it and little damage was sustained.  The witness was able to get a good description of Buckley and the suspect vehicle leaving the scene.

Buckley was caught a short time later, and was booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of First Degree Arson.  Police reports said she was upset with the man who lived in the apartment, but what she was upset about was not stated.
