Kennewick police are investigating a series of chilling discoveries made inside a car parked in a residential neighborhood, and are now patrolling that area more frequently.

Authorities haven't said what led to the discovery, but Tuesday night they searched a light Blue Honda Accord that was found parked in the 100 block of Zinser Street. What was inside was sinister and alarming.

They found meth, guns, masks and police scanners. The car was impounded, but so far, no suspects. Authorities say, according to KEPR-TV, it smacks of drug related activity, but admitted it could also look like someone planning to carry out a serious criminal act against citizens, especially because of the guns and masks.

Kennewick police say the car has Idaho plates, so they are working with officials there to determine who the registered owner is, and get information they hope will lead them to the people who 'own' the items discovered.

Neighbors in the area say they've seen a few criminal acts here and there, but area citizens are feeling a little on edge after the discovery.

Police already are active in the area due to some drug-related incidents, but have stepped up patrols and are asking anyone with any information to call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS.
