There are a few theories here. Some way it's a way for people cover up drug activity. Others say more likely it's trying to destroy evidence from stolen cars. We think that's it.

For at least the fourth time in the least few weeks, Pasco police have been alerted to a car set on fire, usually in slightly more rural areas.

Just after midnight Monday morning, this 2006 Dodge Stratus was found fully engulfed in flames just east of the Lakeview Trailer Court off of Road 40.

A gas can was found nearby, police and fire crews suspect the vehicle was doused in gas by the can, then lit on fire and it was either pushed or rolled by itself to where it was found. Anyone with any information is asked to call (509)-545-3421. Police didn't say if the car had been reported stolen, but most of the other cars found on fire were.
