Oregon State Patrol officials are seeking witnesses or anyone who may have been near the scene of a fatal accident that occurred back on December 6th. They're trying to find out if the vehicle pictured was driving unsafely or dangerously before the wreck.

A fatal crash near Sunriver, OR on Highway 97 took the life of 56-year-old Brian J. Harris of Bend.  He was Northbound heading for Goldendale around 10:15am when his 1981 Toyota pickup was struck hard from behind by a Nissan Quest minivan driven by 55-year-old Shannon Ray Rogers of Goldendale. The Nissan is pictured in our story.

The impact caused the truck to swerve off the road and hit a tree headon. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, while Rogers sustained non life-threatening injuries. After hitting the truck Rogers van also veered off the road and struck a tree.

Authorities are now asking anyone who may have been traveling on Highway 97 near Sunriver at Milepost 151 is urged to call (541)-419-8843. Officials say if anyone recognizes the Nissan van and can recall any information whether it was moving in an erratic or unsafe manner, they're asked to come forward. All leads are confidential.

OSP officials said Thursday alcohol and speed are suspected as factors in the crash. Rogers is still in a Bend medical center receiving treatment from the crash.
