A Yakima man is in the Klamath County Jail facing multiple charges after a late-Thursday traffic stop yielded 13 pounds of marijuana. 29-year old Samuel Alcalan and 27-year-old Mario Serrano-Lopez of Wapato (plus a female passenger) were headed north on Highway 97 when Oregon State Troopers stopped Alcalan for a traffic violation.

The estimated street value of the drug was $30,000! The unidentified female was questioned and released without charges.

Both men are facing charges of unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance. They were in Oregon where Marijuana is still illegal, plus possession of more than one ounce is still illegal.
