Yakima Officer Investigated for Allegedly Kicking Unruly Teen at Fair

An internal investigation has been launched after a passer by video was posted online showing a Yakima Police officer allegedly kicking a teen in the backside, during an altercation at the Central Washington State Fair in Yakima.

The video was released on social media, and in the media as well, and shows some of the scuffle that occurred last Sunday night at the Fairgrounds in Yakima. A number of teens got into a fight, police were called, and Officer Ian Cole allegedly kicked the teen from behind.

Reportedly four of the some 15 people involved were arrested. Cole has been placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the investigation. The boy's family has obtained the services of an attorney, who claims the teen was confronted by the others and was trying to defend himself.  The officers used pepper spray on the teen and others in an effort to break up the fight.
