Authorities say a woman driving near Yakima apparently had some sort of issue that cause her to drive into a fast-moving creek in the West Valley area.

The woman, who's name was not released, apparently veered off Nasty Creek Road near North Fork Road, and crashed into the water. Her vehicle was stuck, and a witness called 911. Authorities say although it's a rural area, Nasty Creek has seen it's share of driving mishaps, with cars ending up in the water.

The woman was rescued a short time later and taken to the hospital, but her condition was unknown. The witness said she was able to get out without difficulty.

Authorities stress the need to pay attention to one's driving, not just on main routes, but especially smaller narrow back roads that can be challenging even if you're paying attention.
