2 In Jail After Richland Heroin Bust

A man and woman are in the Benton County jail after Benton County Sheriff's, Richland police, and U.S. Marshall's broke up a suspected heroin drug ring Wednesday.

Officials say these two arrests are the first of more that are expected, and the investigation continues.

Authorities raided a home Wednesday in the 2000 block of Cascade Street in Richland. Taken into custody for possession of heroin as well as unlawful delivery were 34-year-old Matthew Gilbert, and 23-year-old Kristen N. Link. She was arrested on a felony warrant, but officials didn't disclose what type.

A variety of drug related items besides the heroin was also seized.
