Thanks to the alert medical personnel at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, a 2-month old boy is going to make a full recovery from significant injuries sustained presumably at the hands of a 20-year-old male.

Sgt. Ken Lattin of the Kennewick Police Department reported Monday that Saturday November 21st, Kelcee Taggert took her 2-month-old son to the Kadlec Emergency room because he wouldn't stop crying and was in extreme pain.

The staff in the ER discovered the child had a subdural (below the skin) hematoma (bleeding) and was also suffering from healing fractures to his ribs, arms and legs, consistent with abuse.

He was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, but is expected to make a full recovery. The subsequent investigation led to 20-year-old Zak L. Wilding being arrested on abuse charges. He's in the Benton County jail on 2nd Degree Child assault.

More information is expected to be released soon, the incident remains under investigation.
