Alcohol Probably A Factor in Fatal Walla Walla Crash
According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff's office, a 28-year-old man is dead and another has been sent to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a one-car crash on Russel Road near Walla Walla.
Around 12:30am Tuesday Sheriff's Deputies responded to the serious crash in the 3000 block of Russell Creek road, and found a vehicle had crashed. 28-year-old Tyler Peterson was identified as the deceased person, 29-year-old Gavin Rauch was airlifted to Harborview. A juvenile in the vehicle received treatment at a local hospital, according to Sheriff's officials. The crash occurred about 3-4 miles East of town.
Officials described it as a collision, but did not say what the vehicle struck.
No other details released about how the crash occurred, but Russel Road was closed for at least six hours.
Officials say alcohol was possibly a factor, an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday for Peterson.
