According to our news partner KNDU-TV, the attorney who has been representing Richard Aguirre since he was first accused of sexual assault last November is "not surprised" DNA evidence was found on a 1986 Spokane murder victim.

KNDU reports Attorney Scott Johnson says Aguirre was stationed at Spokane's Fairchild Air Force Base in 1986 during the time of Ruby Doss' murder, and he says "we are not surprised Rich's DNA is associated with Miss Doss."

However, Johnson said Rich is "simply not the individual who would have killed her."

Spokane authorities say Doss was a known prostitute, who was found strangled to death near North Fiske and East Ferry in Spokane in 1986.  Although no further comment was given, it appears Johnson might be alluding that Aguirre was a possible "client" of Doss - resulting in the DNA  evidence - but had nothing to do with her murder.

Johnson does believe, according to KNDU, Aguirre and Doss may have had some sort of "relationship"

Aguirre is not married.
