Authorities Trying to Identify Body Found in Burned Out Car Near Sunnyside

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. (AP) — The Yakima County coroner's office is checking dental records and DNA to identify the body found in the trunk of a burned out car near Sunnyside.

The sheriff's office says the car is registered to a 22-year-old Prosser man, Preston Yahne, who was reported missing Sunday by family members. A relative told the Yakima Herald-Republic he had recently returned home after four years in the Air Force.

A tow truck driver was removing a charred car Tuesday from private property when he discovered a skull and bones in the trunk.
