‘Avalanche’ Of OR-WA School Delays, Closures Coming Tuesday
A slew of Oregon and area WA schools are planning to either delay or close Tuesday, due to the snow and ice that's slammed our region.
Besides some closures Monday, there's a couple already brewing for Tuesday 2-16:
Monday 2/15:
All InterMountain ESD Offices – Pendleton Headquarters, Hermiston Punkin Center & La Grande Joseph Building – are CLOSED on Monday 2/15 due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Staff are working remotely and available via email.
Pilot Rock School District is CLOSED on Monday 2/15 due to inclement weather.
Tuesday 2/16:
Athena-Weston School District will be CLOSED to IN-PERSON Instruction on Tuesday 2/16.
Echo School District will be CLOSED to IN-PERSON Instruction & Online Classes on Tuesday 2/16.
Prescott Sch. Dist.: 2 Hours Late. Student pick up and drop off times, staff arrivals and the start of school will be 2 hours later than usual. Breakfast will not be served. We will reassess road and weather conditions by 5 AM tomorrow. Please stay tuned for possible changes. Stay safe, Tigers! (Effective tomorrow - Tue Feb 16th)
Walla Walla Sch. Dist.: Modified Learning Day (Distance Learning) - No Meal Services. (Effective tomorrow - Tue Feb 16th)
Dixie Sch. Dist.: Closed but operating remotely. Remote learning for Feb 16th
Pendleton School District will be CLOSED to ON-SITE Instruction & will have CDL ONLY on Tuesday 2/16.
Stanfield School District will be CLOSED to IN-PERSON Instruction, please refer to each school’s snow day/inclement weather online learning schedule for Tuesday 02/16.
Umatilla School District will be CLOSED to ON-SITE Instruction (Limited In-Person Instruction) & will have ONLINE LEARNING ONLY on Tuesday 2/16.
Lifeways Day Treatment is CLOSED on Tuesday 2/16.
Starbuck Sch. Dist.: Closed. Due to adverse weather conditions school is closed. (Effective tomorrow - Tue Feb 16th)
Calvary Christian School: for Tuesday
2 Hours Late. Daycare 8:30, k4 k5am 10:30-12:30 pm 1-3
Jr. High 10:15, elementary 10:30
New registration 10:15 (Effective tomorrow - Tue Feb 16th)
Christ the King Parish/School: Closed but operating remotely, No preschool. In order to allow adequate time for snow removal and de-icing,Christ the King School (K-8) will transition to virtual instruction for Tuesday, February 16Th. (Effective tomorrow - Tue Feb 16th)
The regional forecast is calling for a high of 39-40 Tuesday, but overnight into the upper 20's with a mix of rain or snow, which will likely make roads treacherous.
