Just because we're not blasting 105 on the mercury doesn't mean things aren't tinder dry outside.

Wednesday, the Benton County Fire Danger, as measured by the various firefighting agencies in our county, was posted as Extremely High.

It's expected to remain that way at least until next Tuesday August 11.  There is a possibility of cooler weather and maybe a little rain. But authorities are also watching that weather to see if any lightning comes with it.

This means for us, no burning weeds,  be very careful even with barbeques near dry growth, and when taking care of fields, lots and weeds in large areas, have water nearby and watch for any possible sparks. All it takes is one small spark to set off a multi-acre event.
