BEWARE: Richland Police Issue a Phone Scam Alert

The Richland Police Department got a call from a concerned citizen and posted a message on their facebook page regarding people dialing businesses saying their utility bill account is experiencing a problem and to call an 800 number to straighten it out.

When the owner dialed back, suspicious of the circumstances because they knew their account was current, the message was relayed their account was past due and they were facing disconnect. no account or financial information was provided to the account holder.

Don't fall for this! Check with customer service at 509-942-1104 if you have any questions about a past due utility debt.
