
Big Sinkhole Closes Eastbound I-82 Near Zillah
A big sinkhole has closed eastbound I-82 near Zillah after the large hole in the road was found on Tuesday afternoon. Washington State Department of Transportation officials say it was caused by a broken culvert and catch basin. The 15 foot deep hole has forced closure of the interstate and a detour. Drivers must now take Toppenish exit 50 to State Routes 22 and 223 to Granger.
Transportation officials are expected to inspect the damage later Today. The road remains closed Today.
