Blue Bridge Repairs Rescheduled for Nov. 1

The repairs for the Blue Bridge have been rescheduled for Nov. 1 and will continue for a number of days.

Did you know the real name for the Blue Bridge is the Pioneer Memorial Bridge? Now that we have that out of the way, on to the important stuff:

The Washington State Department of Transportation plans to make repairs starting Thursday. The northbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. through Nov. 5 at 5 a.m.

Then the southbound lanes will be closed for the same procedure Nov. 8 10 p.m. through Nov. 12 at 5:30 a.m.

The expansion joints between the huge concrete road layers are going to be replaced.

Detours will be marked and will direct traffic either over the Cable Bridge or onto I-182 from Richland to Pasco.
