Did an Oregon Kindergarten Teacher Make Students Wear Diapers as Punishment?
Morrow County officials say there's not enough evidence to charge a Boardman elementary school teacher.
Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson says after interviewing numerous students and parents his office will drop the case.
The unidentified teacher allegedly forced some students at Sam Boardman Elementary to wear a diaper over their clothes as punishment for bad behavior. Some 14 students were interviewed after reports surfaced that students were being punished for "acting like a baby," according to the Associated Press and Eastern Oregonian.
Nelson said conflicting reports were given by various students, some saying diapers were never used. Superintendent Dirk Dirksen said the school district will conduct its own investigation using an outside, independent investigator to determine if any disciplinary action will be taken against the teacher. Officials did not say if the teacher was placed on leave or was still teaching the Kindergarten class.
