West Richland police now say this little dog, named Linda, was not able to survive a hit-and-run accident.

Back on May 11th, police had shared the story about the three-year-old Chihuaua-Weiner dog mix, who was struck by a car in West Richland. The driver then sped away leaving Linda by the side of the road.

The dog was suffering from an open fracture of her femur and was rushed by her owners to Mid Columbia Pet Emergency Service in Pasco. However, despite their best efforts, upon examination, the injuries were too severe to fix, and Linda had to be humanely put down.

Police are still looking for the vehicle responsible for hitting the dog.
