Cal Ripken 10-U State Tourney In Kennewick This Weekend
Nothing goes better with the July 4th holiday (and week) than baseball! Come see who qualifies for regionals.
Thursday, July 5, kicks off the Cal Ripken Washington State Tournament for 10-U teams at the Kennewick National Baseball complex in Kennewick. The fields are located on 4th Ave, right next to Westgate Elementary just east of Highway 395 by Safeway. Come cheer on your Kennewick National and Kennewick American teams as they compete to see who goes to regionals, then possibly a trip to the Cal Ripken World Series.
Cal Ripken Baseball is one of the biggest organizations of youth baseball in America, sanctioning teams for 9-U (under) 10-U, 11-U and 12-U. This tournament will be for the ten year olds. Looking for some fun family activities? Come down to the tournament and watch. Both Kennewick National and Kennewick American (whose fields are up on Olympia near Yokes in Kennewick) have had lots of success at the state and regional level. In 2011, the KN 12-U team won the state title and they played KA in the final! Then KA went on to win regionals and qualify for the Cal Ripken World Series.
The incredible success of Kennewick High, Kamiakin, and Southridge in baseball (numerous state championships) starts with the KN and KA programs. Because of the hard work of many, Kennewick has one of the best youth baseball programs in the state.
