Child Rape Suspect Eludes Deputies, Police After Lengthy Chase
If you saw a lot of Benton County Deputies lighting up the night Monday near Benton City, they were pursuing a wanted child rape suspect.
Deputies tried to pull over a vehicle near Snow Lane and Highland Extension in Benton City, the car had been driving recklessly. The driver sped up, turned off their lights, and continued to lead Deputies on a chase.
Near 2402 Snow Lane, the driver slammed to a stop, jumped out and fled on foot. He was identified as 34-year-old Alvaro Meza, and he was likely running because he has an outstanding Felony warrant for child rape.
Despite K-9 units from Pasco being brought in, Meza was able to elude officers. Anyone who may know him or his whereabouts is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
