Child Rats Out Would-Be Burglar, Nailed By Cops
Kennewick police say an alert child helped prevent a burglary Tuesday morning, and now the suspect is in jail.
Police say the child told her father she saw somebody trying to break into their home. Dad investigated and confronted 38-year-old Raniel H. Stephens, who was in their garage.
Stephens fled the residence but was later located and arrested by police. He was found with what appeared to be possible drugs as well as paraphernalia, which was sent off for testing.
He's in the Benton County jail on Residential Burglary charges. No one was injured in the confrontation.
