The suspect wanted in a July robbery at the Circle K store on Canal Drive in Kennewick is now in custody, and the tip that got them was a little different.

Kennewick police said Wednesday 35-yaer-old Brooke L. Hampton of Richland is in the Benton County jail facing 1st. Degree Robbery Charges after being arrested at the Haney Inn on Stevens Drive.

Sgt. Ken Lattin said a tip about a certain piece of clothing worn by the suspect eventually led police to the Haney Inn, where Hampton was taken into custody.   Police also found other pieces of what they called 'evidence value' were found in the room where she was staying.

Hampton had held up the Circle K at 5301 West Canal Drive just after midnight the morning of July 21st.  Authorities stress this is another example of how Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers helps apprehend criminals by giving citizens the chance to provide anonymous information to authorities.
