With help from a Kennewick Officer, Pasco PD was able to ID the driver in an early Sunday morning hit-and-run.

DRIVER USED A "RECREATIONAL HERBAL DRUG" BEFORE LEAVING WORK

Around 1:30 AM in the 800 block of Ainsworth in Pasco, a silver car was captured on a surveillance camera smacking another vehicle, then leaving the scene.H

Here, the car is seen approaching the impact area.

Pasco PD were resigning themselves to another arduous task of trying to use these images and video to ID the vehicle, but a tip came in from Kennewick. An Officer had information that helped Pasco Officers ID the wayward driver.

Apparently, he had finished up work, used the "recreational herbal drug" (smoked pot?) then got in his car to go home.

 HE FELL ASLEEP BEHIND WHEEL?

Apparently, he dozed off or was out of it enough that he suddenly jolted awake just in time to hit the stationary vehicle. He then continued on home and went to bed.

Pasco PD says it will be more difficult for an after-the-fact hit and run case, but he will be facing charges related to the accident. The man's name was not released.
