Kennewick Police have released a video of a suspected drugged driver slamming into a patrol car, part of their effort to flee the Walmart parking lot Saturday afternoon.

Around 1:43 PM Officers were conducting a welfare check on a man and woman in a black 2008 Chevy HHR, with a child possibly in the back.

The man, said to be Hispanic along with a white female passenger, was seen nodding off and exhibited other signs of likely drug intoxication. Looking through windows no child was inside, but when Officers tried to awaken and contact the driver, they gunned the engine and backed up, then drove forward, hitting two other civilian cars.

Officers went to move their units to avoid further damage, but the errant drive backed up again (as seen in this video) and slammed into the patrol car. They then were able to hit a few other vehicles before fleeing the parking lot.

The plates on the vehicle came back as being stolen and citizens are urged not to contact the driver if located or seen. If you see the vehicle, call 9-1-1 immediately.

It's black 2008 Chevy HHR, WA Plates BYA9314. Police did not elaborate further about any potential suspects, but said fortunately no one was injured in the melee'.
