Kennewick police have been kept busy lately, including practicing 'cross-country' in a chase of a drug suspect.

Around 2am Wednesday morning, police tried to talk with Maximo Ruelas, who was being detained while committing what police said was an "infraction."

However, before he could be identified, he tried to flee on foot. That's because he had meth on him. Officers swarmed the neighborhood near 2nd Street and South Benton, and he was quickly cornered.

Turns out he was found trying to hide underneath the pickup truck pictured in our story. He was arrested for possession of meth, eluding, obstructing an officer and he already had an outstanding warrant.
