Drunk Walker Hit by Sober Driver in Downtown Kennewick Early Thursday
Kennewick Police say the pedestrian did sustain some injuries but will be OK.
Early Thursday morning, Officers responded to a call about a car vs. pedestrian accident near 1st. Ave and S. Benton Street.
Upon arrival, they found an adult male who'd been hit by a car. However as the investigation continued, they now believe the pedestrian was intoxicated and likely walked out in front of the driver.
The motorist was unhurt and fully cooperative with Police. The walker was taken to a nearby hospital for an evaluation, but injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
It is believed toxicology tests will be conducted to confirm what Police observed and found at the scene. After 6:30 AM the area was cleared and traffic allowed to continue through on 1st and Benton.
