As we have recently learned, a new federal program is going to have a test drone fly over the Mid-Columbia for traffic control purposes.

According to the program sources, the drone will be equipped with vehicle disabling or slowdown technology, and will monitor speeds of cars, trucks, and others who are tracked at faster than posted speeds on our highways.

The drone is expected to make it's appearance today around noon, and last about 15-20 minutes over our skies.   It's part of the Federal Automotive Restriction Team,  funded by recently passed House Bill 0401.   If you see it today, you're seeing a part of history. Keep checking back to our website for more details, and on Facebook.
