Gov. Inslee has announced he is teaming with Senate Democrats to unleash new plans that would REQUIRE insurance plans in Washington state to cover abortion, and he's clearly got Hobby Lobby in his sights.  A new Hobby Lobby store is preparing to open in Seattle.

Never mind the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the business.  The court ruled Hobby Lobby could abstain from offering certain types of birth control programs based upon their religious beliefs.

Now Hobby Lobby does offer at least 16 types of  birth control options within it's employee insurance,  but declined on four others...including plans that offer abortion coverage.

Inslee and Democratic Senators think they've 'found a way around' the Supreme Court ruling.   According to The Family Policy Institute of WA (A pro-life, pro-family conservative group):

"By way of review, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandated that every company provide 20 specific kinds of contraceptives in their health plans. Hobby Lobby was willing to pay for 16 forms of birth control but objected to four. The Supreme Court agreed with Hobby Lobby that federal law protects the rights of people not to violate their conscience even if they become employers.

The fact that you have a right to something, does not mean you have the right to make someone else buy it for you."  (Bold lettering added for emphasis).

Inslee and these lawmakers believe Washington's anti-discrimination laws could force a business to pay for such abortion and birth control coverage despite the Supreme Court's ruling.   This would probably involve the services of progressive Attorney General Bob Ferguson, who's shown no hesitation to go after Arlene's Flowers on the same-sex marriage vs. religious beliefs issue using such laws.

Inslee has enlisted the efforts of his environmental donor, billionaire venture capitalist Tom Steyer of CA, to pour money into Senate campaigns aimed at ousting several GOP legislators who are pro-life and side with Hobby Lobby.  Inslee has even been seen wearing campaign buttons supporting these progressive Democrats.

Inslee even held a press conference last Thursday, conveniently located a short distance from the new Hobby Lobby site.   He believes the state's discrimination laws can trump the Supreme Court decision, because that was a federal ruling, and the discrimination laws are part of the state constitution.

It's no accident Inslee held his event close to Hobby Lobby - it's his way of letting the company know they're in his gunsights.

For a governor who campaigned on "Building A Working Washington," and supposedly being pro-business, this is quite the way to greet the opening of a new store that will offer lots of jobs to Washintonians.  Apparently religious freedom doesn't mean anything to the governor either.

But often times, that is the case with those who start out as extreme environmentalists.  They often pursue a secular, humanist agenda that completely excludes acknowledgement of a "higher power"  or creator.
