They don't often catch fire, but when they do, they go up very quickly.

A 57-year-old Hermiston man, who's identity has not yet been released, escaped injury Wednesday morning when the motor home he was driving Westbound on I-84 caught fire.

Shortly after 11am, an Oregon State Patrol trooper saw the man's motorhome parked on the shoulder and fully engulfed in flames, just East of Mosier, OR which is less than 10 miles from The Dalles.  When the trooper arrived, the man had already safety escaped the vehicle.  The accident briefly closed both Westbound lanes of the Interstate.

Mosier and Oregon Department of Forestry fire crews responded, as the flames had spread to a grassy area near the road.   The cause of the fire is not yet known,  the motorhome burned completely down to the chassis and was a total loss.  Below are additional pictures of the damage, courtesy of the Oregon State Patrol.
