Hermiston Shooting Suspect Arrested After Standoff Near Boardman

Morrow County officials say a 33-year-old man is in jail after he was taken into custody, following a lengthy standoff outside of Boardman, OR.

Alex Ahumada was identified as the suspect in a shooting Saturday night in Hermiston that left a 27-year-old man injured. Ahumada fled the scene.

Then on Thursday police got a tip that Ahumada might be at a residence in the in the Driftwood RV Resort just outside of Boardman.  Oregon State Police, Morrow County Sheriffs and other authorities surrounded the home, and after a four-hour standoff, Ahumada finally surrendered.

The investigation continues, the standoff did not result in any injuries. The shooting victim is expected to fully recover.
