"I'll Have to Check With the Wife," Then Suspect Disappears

If your wife handles all the bills and basically doles out the money in the household, then you know that this guy could very well have been telling the truth.

This happened at the Footlocker store at the mall in Kennewick. So either he really did have to check with his wife about how to pay for the shoes he picked out, and then decided to just steal them rather than have to deal with the look on her face, or he had no plans to check with anyone because his broke butt was just planning to steal the shoes anyway. If you know someone who suddenly has a bunch of nice new shoes, KPD might want to speak with him.
