The Grant County PUD driver thought the tarp was discarded trash and didn't realize someone was sleeping underneath the tarp.
It's quite common for trash to blow across State Route 17, so the driver was unaware of the man underneath the trap until it was too late.
Luckily, the man cried out, and the driver felt the bump over the tarp. The man was transported to Samaritan Healthcare for treatment. His current medical condition is not known.
At this time, that's all the information we have, as the deputies are still working on the report. We will update you as soon as we get more information on this incident in the future.
