The rider sustained some injuries and was taken to hospital, but none of them life threatening.

Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single craft crash on the Columbia River across from Howard Amon Park Sunday afternoon, when the jet ski ran into some rocks on the Franklin County side of the river.

Deputies remind riders of all personal watercraft and boat drivers, follow the navigational markers in the river, especially in that northern area near and past Richland.  When going up the river (away from ocean) towards Hanford, make sure channel markers are on your right.

When traveling down the river (towards Blue Bridge) make sure it's on your left. The markers help steer people away from the shorelines. Getting too close could result in running aground, like this rider did.
