The Kamiakin Braves boarded the two big charter buses this morning at the high school, and headed off to the Tacoma Dome for the 2016 Gridiron Classic.

Hundreds of parents, fans students and more began to gather around 8:30am, as the team went through a pep rally.  Then, complete with a Kennewick Police Department escort, made their way  through town past several elementary schools, where the students stood outside and cheered as they rolled past.

One big fan even drove out on the interstate, and captured a very cool photo as the buses headed past Queensgate towards Yakima and Tacoma. The overpass was decorated with KaHS banners.

The Braves will play O'Dea from Seattle Friday night at 7:30pm.  It will be their  third appearance in the big game, previously in 1995 and 2010. The Braves have gone deep in the playoffs many times, but a great chance to bring home the big trophy, the first in school history.  They will have a chance to break the West side stranglehold on the 3A title held by either Bellevue, Eastside Catholic or O'Dea since the mid 2000's.

The game will be televised on Root Sports NW at 7:30 Friday. Here's a video of the sendoff
