Kennewick Law Firm Offers Defense for COVID Shutdown ‘Defyers’
This might shake things up, especially if it creates a domino effect.
A Kennewick law firm has publicly stated if a business owner chooses to defy the latest lockdown rules (Such as a bar, restaurant or gym) Celski Law Firm of Kennewick will defend you.
The following message has been posted on Attorney Jason Celski's Page, and shared hundreds of time on Facebook:
"Small businesses...if you chose to stay open and are fined, we will represent your business Pro Bono to fight the fine. As a small business ourselves, we understand that these new restrictions may result in the closures of many of our fellow businesses and our community as a whole. In an effort to support our community, Celski Law will offer these Pro Bono services to these businesses in an effort to fight these new restrictions. Let’s keep our community thriving together!"
Celski, whose information indicates he's been practicing for 14 years, put up the notice on Wednesday. We reached out to him Thursday to find out if he's had any takers so far. We do understand names and businesses obviously won't likely be released unless they wish to do so (client privacy privilege).
But we are curious to see how many businesses take him up on this offer. This ushers in a whole new level of civil disobedience towards the state over Inslee's proclamations; and as we said earlier, this could potential embolden other attorneys to follow suit.
We will update this as more information becomes available.
