Trust someone who was recently "popped" for speeding, I can tell you honestly, I had no idea how easy it was to travel faster than the posted limit. After an expensive ticket was issued to me, I've learned. Officers are watching.

This week speed emphasis patrols are being conducted in the areas of West 7th Avenue, Canyon Lakes Drive, West 10th Avenue, and Steptoe Street, just to name a few.

According to a Kennewick Police Department Facebook post:

Say "Hi" if you see us out there . . . and don't forget to buckle up!

I was running late. I thought I'd travel the Bypass Highway to save time. Well, the limit is 55 mph. I was "going with traffic", maybe a little faster. My mistake.

Come to find out, I was traveling well over the posted 55 mph limit. Needless to say, I was pulled over, issued a citation, and was LATE to work. Trust me. It's not worth the aggravation. Lesson learned. Obey the speed limit.
