The Kennewick Police are warning citizens to be aware of a new phone scam according to their post:
Fraud Alert -- Please be aware of a phone scam that is occurring in Kennewick.
A citizen called to report that a male, claiming to be a KPD Officer, was raising money for the Kennewick Police Department. The male was asking for Bronze ($25), Silver ($35) and Gold ($45) donations.
This is a scam. The Kennewick Police Department does not solicit for money. Any calls of this nature should be considered suspicious.
