The major on-off ramp in and out of Boardman, and an important overpass for traffic in the entire area is finally back in operation. The impact marks in the left picture continued across the girders all way to the other side.

The overpass at Exit 164 was struck February 5th by an oversize load truck that was moving at 50 mph.  Oregon Department of Transportation crews had to assess the damage, although it didn't look like much, testing showed the structure would have eventually not been safe to drive on. The cracks and dents would have likely materialized into significant issues in the coming weeks and months.

DOT crews were able to get repairs made and patches, so now traffic in the entire Boardman region isn't snarled.  This is the only major overpass in the area, and extensive detours had to be dealt with until repairs were made.
