Early Thursday morning, a 52-year-old man was found having been shot in the chest multiple times in downtown Yakima.

Police were called to the 700 block of West Chestnut Avenue for a report of shots being fired. They found Michael Frazier of Yakima lying by the road.

He was rushed to Astria Regional Medical center but was pronounced dead arouond 2:52am. Reports indicate he bled out from multiple wounds.

Police say a car pulled up and the shooter likely got out before firing at him. A number of shots were fired, hitting Frazier, then the car left. Multiple suspects inside. Authorities are looking for a red SUV, the getaway vehicle. Frazier does not appear to have any gang ties despite this drive by shooting.

The investigation continues.
