Man Hospitalized After Freeway Shooting Near Boardman

Few details have been released, but the 1:50am shooting sent a 26-year-old man to an area hospital.

The Oregon State Patrol, who are investigating the shooting, say the Morrow County Deputy came across a disabled vehicle westbound on I-84 near Boardman.

He stopped to investigate, and he came upon a man armed with a firearm. The report says "shots were fired" during the encounter. The Deputy was not injured, the 26-year-old man was taken to an area hospital with "a gunshot wound," according to State Police.

No identities released yet, State Patrol says more information coming.
