Fortunately, police apprehended the suspect Tuesday evening.

Earlier in the night, authorities got a 911 call from the victim, saying he caught a man trying to steal items from his car. When he confronted the burglar, the suspect tried to stab him.

27-year-old Joshua Shelton didn't connect with the knife, and then took off running from the scene of the crime near 27th and Highway 395.

Police saw him a short time later nearby, and he tried to hide in some bushes. When officers ordered him to come out, he did and was arrested without incident. He's in the Benton County jail, and the victim's property was returned.
