While news services were touting a mystery man inside the Kennewick Bank of America branch, a janitor was getting nervous when he saw his face on TV.

Kennewick police were called at 2:21 a.m. on Friday with a report of a man seen walking around inside the Bank of America branch 3420 W. Kennewick Ave., near North Morain Street.

The man was seen on surveillance cameras walking around inside, but when officers arrived they couldn’t find him, said the Kennewick Police.

As the news stories ran about the potential bank robber, the Kennewick police updated their report to indicate the man was part of a nighttime janitorial service and that the alarm was activated by mistake.
