An early Sunday morning shooting has left a 27-year-old man dead and officials looking for answers, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Around 8:15 AM 9-1-1 calls came in from residents near 1106 Arlington in Moses Lake, which is just south of Big Bend Community College. Callers said there was screaming and loud arguing, an alarming argument.

The suspect then reportedly walked to his own nearby home at 1102 Arlington, returned with a knife, and stabbed the victim at least once.

Then they reported hearing gunshots and there was a stabbing that had occurred. When Grant County Deputies arrived, they found Danual. D. Surface on the home's back porch, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS was rushed to the scene but Surface was later pronounced dead at Samaritan Hospital.

According to Deputies, witnesses said Surface and 48-year-old  David R. Hagar were arguing behind the house, Hagar then fired the gun multiple times and Surface went down on the porch.

The suspect then reportedly walked to his own nearby home at 1102 Arlington, returned with a knife, and stabbed the victim at least once.

Hagar is now in the Grant County Jail looking at one count of First Degree Murder. Officials have not said what led up to the argument, or what triggered the violence.
