There has been increased police presence the end of this week at Highlands Middle School in Kennewick, after a Tuesday night threat was discovered.

Kennewick Police now say the student who made the alleged  threat was given an emergency expulsion by the Kennewick School District, and will not be returning to school the rest of the week, at least.  Precautions are being taken said police, to ensure this student does not pose a further threat to the school, staff or students.

They want to make sure the school will be safe when the student returns. Classes were held as usual Wednesday at the school.
