In a story that is both bizarre but disturbing, police in rural Yelm WA are investigating allegations a teen-age girl was forced to 'fight' her step-father wearing mideval garb and using a wooden sword as punishment for misbehavior.

Thurston County officials arrested Fremon Seay, the girls step-dad, after she was forced to don mideval 'armor' and sword fight with Seay for two hours as punishment for going to a party without their permission.  The 16 year old suffered numerous bruises and collapsed from exhaustion, but is doing ok, and expected to fully recover.  Seay and his wife, Julie, are members of a local group of Renaissance enthusiasts, who often gather to recreate fights from the Mideval era.  Apparently, step-dad took it a little too far.  The girl's mother was arrested because she witnessed the assault and duel, and did nothing to stop it.  Ironically, Julie Seay works at a daycare near Yelm.  The girl and two other children living in the home are staying with relatives until officials decide exactly what course of action will be taken.  CPS was notified about the incident and is investigating.
